Hey! My name is Maya Kelley and this is my blog. I believe in overdressing and primping at leisure. When I’m not teetering around in heels I like to binge watch documentaries on Netflix and spend hours on end reading through fashion blogs. I’m a social media consultant by day, style blogger by night. I’m 23 years old and I grew up in a small town in South Carolina. I graduated from Louisiana State University and moved to New York City shortly after graduating college to pursue my dream of working in the fashion industry. I am fortunate to be able to work in this industry doing what I love.
I started this blog not only as an outlet to express my personal style, but also as a way to help others find inspiration and ways to look fabulous even when you’re short on funds. (story of my life!)

How did your blog get its name?
The Kelley Doll kind of started as a joke/ play on words. For all you 90’s babies out there I’m sure you remember Barbie’s little sister, Kelly. As a child I absolutely loved Kelly dolls. I had a whole collection, although Kelly dolls have since been discontinued. Since my last name is Kelley, I thought it was a cool homage to the vintage dolls that brought me so much joy in my childhood. Here’s a fun fact, there’s also a vintage Barbie from the 70’s that’s named Kelley with an E just like my last name. How cool!
What theme do you use for your blog?
I use the Applique theme by Dahz. I love this theme because it’s really easy to customize even if you’re not super tech savvy. One of the reasons some bloggers are so apprehensive about getting a pre-made theme is that they’re worried about their blog design being cookie cutter. With this theme, it’s a non-issue! What kind of camera do you use?
For my outfit posts, I shoot with Arkeem. He’s an amazing photographer based in NYC! For beauty posts and other shots on Instagram, I’m either using my Nikon D3200 or my iPhone. The Camera+ app is a major game changer.
What app do you use for your Instagram Stories?
To create my Instagram Stories I purchased a set of Instastory templates from Creative Market. I edit the templates in Photoshop and airdrop the picture from my laptop to my phone. You can buy the Instastory templates here.
