Lately, I’ve been trying to inject more color and personality into my wardrobe. I have grown weary of the practical basics and neutral colors. So when I encountered this gorgeous floral kimono from Who What Wear Collection, it was love at first sight. Here’s our love story.
Who What Wear invited me to their blogger gifting suite here in NYC to pick out a few pieces from the collection. I was thrilled that they invited little ol’ me to come to their event. It started with a panel featuring Marianna Hewitt, Bauble Bar and Wendy’s Lookbook.
I learned so much from them, but I was even more excited to head over to the racks and snag some clothes from the much-anticipated Who What Wear Collection. We walked– no *ran* over to the racks and it was chaos, pure chaos. In the best way possible.
I grabbed a few pieces then stepped away from the madness to capture the moment on my Instagram Story– obviously. I grabbed clothes mostly in all black and I was content with what I had found. I took a seat and got a plate or two of food with a glass of champagne to congratulate myself on a successful shopping trip.
Just before I was about to leave, I decided to go back to the racks one last time to see if I missed anything. The racks were mostly bare at this point. That’s when the silky floral printed fabric caught my eye. I took the hanger off the rack and beheld its beauty. Upon closer inspection, I realized the kimono is a size large and it’s the only one left. I tried it on and although it’s large it still fit– albeit oversized.
I was on the fence about the kimono, so I did what any good millennial would do and ran a poll on my Instagram story to help me decide. The kimono edged it out its competition in the poll, though I ended up getting both items.
I was elated, on cloud nine. I spent the entire train ride home fantasizing about the countless outfits I could create with this kimono. Here’s one of my favorite ways that I styled this kimono.
