Over the knee boots are having a moment right now and I’m totally here for it. The thigh-skimming boots once evoked thoughts of Pretty Woman due to their overly sexy nature, causing the modest people to clutch their pearls. I can thank the lucky stars that now we see people wearing over the knee boots on a daily basis and no one so much as bats an eye.
I picked up these boots on a whim one day while strolling through Soho. I popped into Steve Madden, telling myself that I would just see what’s there– I promised myself I wouldn’t buy anything. Yeah, obviously that didn’t work out. I tried on these boots and fell in love. They’re warm, they do a really good job of staying up on my legs and they are so versatile.
In fact, I loved them so much that I wore them out of the store. Since then, I’ve found countless ways to style these over the knee boots. One of my favorite outfit formulas is a chic button down shirt, thigh skimming mini skirt and over the knee boots. It’s such an easy way to look chic and stylish with little to no effort on my part. It’s truly a win – win situation.
When I shot this look it was so cold outside. NYC winters are so brutal that I reconsider my decision to live here every winter. I was able to keep myself warm by wearing base layers under my clothes. My secret tip to staying warm without looking bulky is layering an Under Armor skin tight muscle shirt under my regular shirt. I promise you will be so warm and cozy!
What are your tips for staying warm when them temperatures start to drop? Or do you live in a place where it stays warm all year round? In which case, I’m so jealous of you.
